Live One-to-One Terms
These terms cover paid one-to-one video calls on LiveHowTo: Call Now calls and scheduled Private Bookings.
Call Now connects you immediately with a Creator who is Available, for a flexible length of time, billed per minute. A Private Booking is a scheduled service with a fixed duration and price, booked at least 30 minutes ahead.
Call Now pricing
You agree to the Creator's advertised per-minute rate before the call connects.
Billing starts only once you and the Creator are both connected. You pay a one-minute minimum, then proportionally per second for the actual time you are connected.
Nothing is charged for calls that are declined, unanswered or never connect.
Temporary card holds
To secure your call we temporarily reserve £20 on your card, or one minute at the Creator's rate if that is higher. This is an authorisation, not an upfront charge, but it reduces your available bank balance until it is released.
When the call ends we charge the actual amount owed and release any unused funds. Your bank may take a few days to make released funds available again.
As your secured funds run low during a call, we'll warn you (at about 5 and 2 minutes) and offer to extend your payment authorisation with another temporary hold of the same amount. Every extra hold needs your explicit approval; we never place one automatically. A call can have at most eight holds.
Your bank may show each hold as a separate pending amount. We don't promise a single bank transaction or instant release.
We never charge more than the funds you have approved. If you don't extend, or an extension isn't approved by your bank, the call ends safely when your secured funds are used.
If a small remainder is below the minimum card charge, it is waived rather than rounded up.
Private Bookings
Your card is authorised at checkout and only charged once the Creator confirms. If the Creator doesn't confirm within 48 hours, the hold is released.
A Creator may suggest a different time instead of declining. Your booking only moves if you accept; the price never changes and you are never charged for a suggestion. If you keep the original time or don't respond before the suggestion expires, your original booking stands.
Cancellations 24 hours or more before the start are fully refunded. Cancellations within 24 hours aren't normally refundable; LiveHowTo support can make exceptions. If the Creator cancels you are fully refunded.
Fees
Payments are processed by Stripe on the Creator's behalf. LiveHowTo receives a 20% platform fee from each payment.
